Audrey “Sala Adenike” Jeter-Allen is a multi-faceted artist who enjoys creating artwork, singing, dancing, writing, teaching and learning.

 

Sala Jeter-Allen served several years as Art Department Chair and visual arts teacher at the Jessye Norman School of the Arts. She is an alumna of Vassar College in Poughkeepsie NY and holds a BA Degree in Performing and Visual Arts from Empire State College, State University of New York.

African inspired motifs have become her trademark.

​

As a visual artist, Ms. Jeter-Allen’s paintings have been exhibited at Vassar College, Poughkeepsie, NY; The Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, GA; Paine College, Augusta, GA; The Cotton Exchange Museum, Augusta, GA; The Lucy Laney Museum, Augusta, GA; Jessye Norman School of the Arts, Augusta, GA; Empire State College, Saratoga Springs, NY; New York City Public Schools; The Community Gallery at 600 Broad, Augusta, GA; The Center for African American History, Art and Culture, Aiken, SC; Augusta University Medical Center. Many of her paintings are in private collections as well.

As artistic director of ABATSU African Drummers and Dancers and AJADACO Children’s African Dance Company, Sala Jeter-Allen used her creative talents to create and construct all stage costuming.

​

Sala also enjoys singing and songwriting. Her classic collection of original songs is entitled Same Direction/Sala Adenike and is available online at I-Tunes.

​

She is the Illustrator of the Children's Book HELLO QUEEN and THE SECRETS OF HATTIE BROWN COLORING BOOK.

​

In 2021 She began hosting monthly virtual Paint and Sip events on Zoom.

​
